Altria Group is the parent company of Philip Morris USA, U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company and John Middleton. The role of Altria Group Distribution Company (AGDC) is to provide sales, distribution and consumer engagement services for Altria’s tobacco operating companies.

Key Account Analyst
April 2016 – Current

As a Key Account Analyst, my role is to identify insights that lead to customer opportunities through routine and proactive data analysis.  Primary areas of responsibility include:

  • Analyzing syndicated and customer-specific data to identify opportunities
  • Performing sales and pricing analysis with the Key Account Manager
  • Evaluating sales promotions and suggesting modifications to improve ROI
  • Creating and updating sales presentations, dashboards and scorecards.
Unit Manager

As a Unit Manager, my role was to lead and develop an assigned sales team to sell and execute marketing and trade programs to grow Altria’s companies’ businesses and their customers’ businesses within the assigned geography of Eastern, Central, and Northern Maine.
Business Process & Technology Analyst

As an analyst in AGDC’s Business Process and Technology department at Altria Group’s headquarters in Richmond, VA, my role was to enhance business processes and leverage technology to reduce field sales force administration. Specifically, my team supported the Senior Account Managers of AGDC’s top 35 chain accounts with business analytics, payment reconciliation, and systems administration.

As a TSM, my role was to sell and execute trade programs to grow Altria’s tobacco companies’ businesses and their customers’ businesses in the New Haven, CT region.


American Cellular
Sales Representative    March 2002 – Dec 2005
For roughly four years I worked as a retail sales representative at the Cingular Wireless store in the Crystal Mall in Waterford, CT.  Typical duties included greeting customers, asking questions to uncover wants/needs, suggesting appropriate rate plans, features, and equipment, and offering outstanding customer service.  I worked at American Cellular full-time until beginning college in the fall of 2002 and continued to work there part-time through most of my college career.


The Mobile Solution
Sales Associate, Manager    June 2001 – Feb 2002
Immediately after graduating high school, I started working full time as a sales representative for The Mobile Solution, an authorized dealer of T-Mobile, at the Crystal Mall in Waterford, CT.  This was a very demanding and fast-paced job and the pay was straight-commission, so I quickly learned effective sales techniques. After working at The Mobile Solution for five months, I earned the opportunity to become a store manager at another location, the Westfarms Mall in West Hartford, CT.  The store manager was responsible for creating the weekly schedules, weekly payroll reports, hiring and training employees, authorizing returns, and of course, selling!
